An unecessary update
I've compiled a list of things I want to buy when I have more money:

• a wacom tablet (the one I have now sucks) and possibly a scanner
  
• a new cover for my ipod
  
• new clothes
  
• a watch
  
• a copy of starcraft, to play with Alex if he still wants to
  
• [edit: a damned pocketbook/book bag]
  

The wacom tablet seems iffy, especially since I won't have much time to use it and I still have to buy books. It's also minimum $300 if I don't buy it off of ebay.

I've found a book that I can't seem to put down. Please don't laugh, it's Gregory Maguire's Wicked. It's actually really well written. It's also written on an adult level so I don't have to feel guilty reading it (unlike with some of those fantasy novels).

I had a slight panic attack at work today when some woman started talking about her eight-month-old baby. I realized that I work with a bunch of women who put clothes away for a living. For a moment I was afraid that this could be my future. Although I recognize that there's almost no chance of this happening based on my circumstances and choices it just made me feel sort of...trapped for a minute.

Aside from that, for some unknown reason I've been in a really good mood for the past couple of days. I actually found myself singing out loud to that stupid Sheryl Crow song (you know, that one about soaking up the sun) in the car on the way to work today. I hope this lasts because these moods have been pretty damned rare lately.
